ATSUM warns

The All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM-ES) has warned of launching its protest movement from Feb 1 if the Govt fails to address the issues raised by the Students' body.
The various demands raised by the ATSUM to the Chief Minister through a memorandum today included amongst others placing the draft rules for Manipur Reservation of Vacancies in Post and Service (for SC/ST) Bill in the coming State Budget Session for discussion and passing of the Bill and setting up of separate Directorate of Education (Hills).
The other demands incorporated in the ATSUM memo signed by its president Emboi Serto and GS Marahang Ngiimai included re-introduction of Alternative English in the BSEM syllabi; regularisation of contract lecturers and ad hoc teachers as per reservation norms; termination of teachers who are recruited for hill areas and posted now in the valley instead of any rationalisation and to respect the sentiments of the people regarding the police boundary issues.
