State logs 29 new Covid cases

Imphal, August 08 2022:
Fresh Covid-19 cases were detected in 10 out of the total 16 districts of the state on Monday with Imphal East and Imphal West districts accounting for maximum number of in fected people at seven and eight respectively.
In all, 29 fresh infections were reported at 8.6 per cent test positivity rate in the state out of 339 samples tested while there is no Covid-related fatality in the last 24 hours.
Apart from the twin capital districts, three each positive cases were detected in Kakching and Pherzawl districts, two each in Chandel and Senapati districts as Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Tengnoupal and Thoubal districts had one case each.
As per the daily update by Cbvid-19 Common Control Room, 40 people were discharged from home isolation (35), RIMS (1) and Shija Hospital (4), taking the cumulative recovery rate to 98.29 per cent.
Including five central force personnel there are still 244 active cases in the state, which has seen demise of 2138 people since out break of the pandemic.
So far, 1,39,377 people, including 5019 central security personnel, have been infected by the viral disease.
As per the daily update, nine patients are undergoing treat ment at the 38 bedded JNIMS Covid facility while RIMS has 21 patients and 41 beds are vacant.
In terms of vaccination, only 88 people took the Covid vaccine on Sunday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 31,32,811, out of whom 12,92,364 have taken the second dose and 2,18,379 have been administered the precautionary doses.
On Sunday, a total of 362 D-type and 78 B-type oxygen cylinders were distributed to different healthcare centres.
