Call to save market of Manipuri Cinema raised

All Manipur Film Makers' & Producers' Association (AMFIMPA) organised a general body meeting of the twelve constituent members/guilds of Film Forum Manipur on August 7 at Youth Hostel Hall, Khuman Lampak.
According to a statement issued by AMFIMPA, the meeting was moderated by renowned film activist Narendra Ningomba.
During the course of the meeting, various issues were discussed including the steadily deteriorating state of Manipuri cinema, urging the State Government to amend the Manipur Cine Policy into a full-fledged film policy without further delay and tactics to improve the dying market of Manipuri cinema.
Aside from this, the gathering also discussed the controversy surrounding the affiliation of Manipur Cinema with the Art & Culture Department and some people demanding that it should come under the purview of DIPR and to bring a final resolution to the matter by holding dialogue with the concerned stakeholders.
It is worth noting that the 12 constituent members who participated in the day's meeting are All Manipur Film Producers' Association, Cine Artist and Technical Association, Apunba Matam Eshei Kanglup AMMIK, All Manipur Cinematographers Association, Cine Actors Guild Manipur, Choreographers guild Manipur, Cine Editors Guild Manipur, Cine Makeup Artist and Costume Guild Manipur, Cine Writers and Playwright Forum manipur, Cine Equipment and Handler Association, Cine Directors Guild Manipur and AMFIMPA.
