Drivers urged to follow traffic norms

While remarking that drivers have an important role to play in lowering the number of road accident cases in Manipur; Transport deputy secretary Dr David Elangbam urged all concerned to follow traffic rules and regulations, thereby helping Manipur become a state where traffic laws are followed strictly.
Speaking as chief guest of the inaugural function of Mayol Driving School' at Poumai Colony, Sangakpham on Monday, Dr David informed that the opening of the driving school was approved after a thorough inspection, submission of requisite documents and completing other important formalities.
He then expressed belief that the driving school will provide huge service to the people.
Stating that the most of the road accident cases occurred due to low driving skills, Dr David emphasised the need for drivers to know about traffic laws, in addition to cultivating their driving skills: Drivers have a huge role to play in reducing road accident cases, he asserted.
Presided over by Mayol Driving School Board of Director chairman K Sani Mao, the inaugural function was attended by Poumai Colony Village vice chairman Ng Thaiho as guest of honour.
