Festival of Nupi Pala 2022 held

Renowned theatre artist, playwright and director, PadmaShri Naba Wareppa underscored the needof preserving and promoting the rich heritage of art and culture of the State.
The above statement was made by him while speaking at the Festival of Nupi Pala 2022 held at Sangeet Kala Mandal, Kangmong Maisnam Leikai today in connection with Jhulan Khela.
The festival was organised by Kangmong Sangeet Kala Mandal as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Expressing concern over the lack of enthusiasm among the youths of today to promote the unique heritage of indigenous art and culture of the State, PadmaShri Naba Wareppa maintained that it will lead to the downfall of the rich traditions which plays a major role in promoting the State globally.
In view of the above scenario, he called for collaborative efforts to safeguard the legacy of the indigenous art and culture in the State.
The event was also attended by L Tompishak Singh, president of Manipur State Co-operative Union and Sougrakpam Hemanta, Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee as the presidium members.
