Imphal, August 08 2022:
Coordination Committee (CorCom) declared boycott of India's Independence Day celebration in Manipur and imposed total shutdown on August 15 from 1 am till 6.30 pm .
The shutdown, however, will be relaxed for essential services, medical, electricity, water supply, fire service, press and religious ceremonies, a CorCom statement said.
According to CorCom, the conglomerate of UG groups operating in Manipur, Modi government's directive to hoist India's tricolour in every house on August 15 as part of 75thyear celebration of India's independence is an unseen strategy to lengthen its colonial rule in Western South East Asia (WE-SEA) and Manipur (Kangleipak) .
It said that 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign of Modi government is a secret plan to complete the Indianisation process of communities who were forcibly merged to India and hoisting India's tricolour flag cannot signify Manipur (Kangleipak)'s independence.
Formed with remnants of British India using brute force and treason, today's India is facing sovereignty movement in different region while constitutional amendment is continuing unabated to realise 'One nation, one religion, one language' objective.
Revocation of Article 370 from Jammu & Kashmir and implementation of Citizen Amendment Act are clear examples of this Hindu chauvinistic agenda and Hindutva policy based on Hindu chauvinism is a deliberate act to uproot minority communities who have unique culture, language and identity.
To be continued.
