Vehicle lifter being detained by Anjuman

Clarifying the reports published on Saturday in local newspapers here, Anjuman has stated that Md Najir Ahamed alias Firoj (29) s/o Md Basir Ahamed of Urup Litan Makha was detained by the organisation in connection with lifting of a Bolero jeep.
During a press meet held on Saturday at Manipur Press Club, Anjuman leaders clarified that Najir Ahamed was pulled up by volunteers of Anjuman, Lilong branch on August 13 on the charge of stealing a white colour Bolero jeep with registration number WB074-6878 .
After interrogation, it was confirmed that Najir Ahamed along with his two other friends stole the vehicle from RIMS compound on April 17 last, said Anjuman secretary Md Habibulllah.
He added that Najir Ahamed was earlier caught red handed while he was trying to steal a diesel auto in Lilong area.
Basir Ahamed came to Anjuman's office many times and asked for his son's release but he was told to deposit a security amount of Rs 3 lakh or to return the stolen Bolero, said Habibullah.
He rubbished the reports on Basir Ahamed published in the local newspapers and asked Basir Ahamed to tender an apology to Anjuman soon or to face action from the organization.
