Bina murder case: PM conducted, body lies unclaimed

Even as the post mortem examination of the 18-year-old girl, who was found brutally murdered in a bushy area at Thingkhanphai village on the bank of Manipur river yesterday morning, have been conducted at JNIMS morgue, nobody has come forward to claim the body today.
The post mortem examination was conducted in the presence of a Duty Magistrate with full video coverage.
Sugnu AC MLA K Ranjit came to JNIMS morgue to meet the family members and locals.
It may be mentioned that body of Athokpam Bina (18) d/o Biren of Serou Makha Leikai was recovered at around 10 am yesterday after she went missing on September 3 afternoon.
She bore strangulation marks on the neck.
Prime suspect of the case and her fiancee, Naorem Narendra (21) s/o Inaoyaima of Khongjom Patpal was thrashed by angry locals of the victim yesterday.
He was rescued by a police team and rushed to RIMS hospital.
Serou locals formed a JAC against the incident soon after the was recovered.
Later, a large number of Serou locals headed towards Narendra's locality Kongjom Patpal.
However, police blocked them at Kakching.
Narendra is an earth excavator driver and staying at the residence of the owner of earth excavator at Sugnu.
He had eloped with the victim some months back and date for their marriage has been already fixed.
