Lamka, September 05 2015 :
The Zo Re-unification Organisation (ZoRO) general headquarters has today called for the withdrawal of the three Bills passed by the Government of Manipur on August 31 as they infringe the rights of the indigenous people over their land and contravene Article 19 and 26 sub-clause 1&2 of UNDRIP (UN Declaration on the Rights if the Indigenous People) 2007 .
Zo Re-unification Organisation (ZoRO) was shocked and startled to learn the passing of the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms (Seventh Amendment) Bill, 2015 by the Manipur State Assembly.
The Bills denied the Rights of Indigenous tribal over their ancestral lands, said a statement issued by their Media Cell.
It consequently demanded that the Bills which infringe the rights of the Indigenous people over their land be withdrawn at once.
ZoRO also condoled the death of eight people in the course of their struggle against the Bills passed by Manipur Assembly and highly condemned the State security forces for their brutalities and the suffering causes to many people.
