AR guns down two suspected PLA cadres in Myanmar border

Two suspected PLA cadres have been gunned down by a combined team of 11 Assam Rifles and 6 Dogra of 26 Sector Assam Rifles during an encounter on Saturday that took place at a place between B Bongjang and T Motjang under Moreh Police Station of Chandel district along the Indo-Myanmar border.
One AK-47 rifle and two pistols were recovered from the spot, sources said.
The bodies of the suspected underground cadres and the recovered weapons have been handed over to the Moreh Police.
Based on information received about presence of PLA cadres near the international border at Moreh, patrols were launched by 11 Assam Rifles and 6 Dogra of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR(S) on September 5, according to an AR release.
The patrols were fired upon by UGs hiding between B Bongjang and T Motjang.
Assam Rifles troops retaliated instantly and both parties engaged in a firefight for close to 60 minutes.
In the ensuing encounter, two UGs were killed on the spot and one AK-47 Rifle and two pistols were recovered
from the spot.
Taking advantage of the proximity to the international border, the remaining UGs fled into Myanmar.
As per sources, dead bodies of two more UGs have been carried away by the insurgents, who were also seriously injured in the firing by the combined team.
The bodies of the two UGs and the recovered weapons are being handed over to the Moreh Police, the AR release added.
