UFO reaches out

The Disaster Relief Committee formed under the aegis of Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO) today handed over financial assistance to victims of Aug 18 Moreh incident.
A sum of Rs 1,12,130 was handed over to adviser of Meetei Council, Moreh Kh Ibochou by the secretary general UFO Y Meiraba Angom, commander Langthabal Kunja S Sarat and president Wangoo battalion A Nimai during a function at Manipur Press Club.
Speaking at the function attended by members of UFO, Meiraba stated that their late leader RK Manisana had dreamt of such relief committee which could provide help to the people regardless of which community or tribe they belong.
Formed on August 22, 2015 the relief committee will now provide assistance of all kind when any natural calamities or problem arise in the State.
He further added that the State of Manipur is not only for the dominant Meetei community but for each and every other communities and without other sections of our society there can be no unity in diversity.
Reminiscing the June 18 incident of 2001, Meiraba expressed that UFO will not remain a silent spectator when there is external or internal aggression which could challenge the territorial integrity.
Meanwhile, Ibochou showed his gratitude towards UFO for providing such assistance.
