Mass condolence held at Leimakhong

Tribal people and other minority groups in Manipur observed a condolence service in remembrance of the 'Tribal Martyrs' killed in Churachandpur and staged sit-in protest against the three controversial bills passed in the State Assembly at various places of Sadar Hills district on Saturday.
A mass condolence ceremony of the eight tribal youths killed by the State Force and a protest were organized at Leimakhong bazar in Sadar Hills by Leimakhong Area Chief Organization in collaboration with Leimakhong Area Youth Organization.
The mourners held placards that read, "We mourn the martyrs of Churachandpur incident", "Separate administration is the solution,"" Why rubber bullets for Imphal and live bullet for Churachandpur?", "Innocents were killed", "We can die for our land and fight for our land" and "We oppose the Anti-Tribal Bills tooth and nail" .
Ex-MLA SL Paokhosei, Mawinu and vice president KWU Sadar Hills, who is also the president Leimakhong Area Women Union, area chiefs and church leaders also spoke on the gathering while mourning the death of youths in Churachandpur.
Speaking to media persons, Hesei Touthang, general secretary of Leimakhong Area Chief Organization said that the tribal populace and another minority group in Leimakhong area strongly condemned the atrocities of the State security force meted out to ye people of Churachandpur.
He continued that the tribal populace and other minorities in the State have been facing grave discrimination, injustice and abuse at the hands of the 'communal Manipur Government' and its police force.
