Govt has plan to make metros: Works Minister

Works Minister K Ranjit today said that the government has plans to develop metros in Imphal city to decrease noise pollution and also as a remedy to
the ever increasing traffic congestion.
He was speaking as Chief Guest of inaugural function of new office building of Yaiskul Voluntary Organisation (YVO) today.
He
further said that broadening of Wahengbam Leikai Road and Singjamei Road were taken up during the tenure of the SPF government despite public wrath over the eviction.
The initiatives were carried out in order to accommodate the ever increasing traffic flow in and around Imphal city.
These projects were carried out for the welfare of
the public and not for some benefits of the Ministers or MLAs.
He also said that the government is discussing the possibility of developing metros instead of
constructing mini flyover bridges in selected areas of Imphal city.
Pointing out the various achievements of the SPF Government, K Ranjit said that many age old issues
have been solved during the tenure of SPF government.
AR were removed from Kangla and the government is discussing with the Centre to solve the issue of indefinite
fast of Sharmila in demand of removing of AFSPA.
When the issue of Supra State body for the Nagas created panic in the mind of the people, CM O Ibobi himself went to
Delhi and forced the Union Home Minister and PM to clarify on the matter, he added.
