Ambulances flag off, kits distributed to ASHAs

Media persons, who came to cover a programme for flagging off Ambulances to the six districts of the state and handing of kits to the ASHAs, were left disappointed
with the decision of the organizers to delay the programme by four hours, as the concern Minister was busy with other schedules.
The said programme was originally
scheduled at 11:30 am at the Directorate of Family Welfare, BT Road, where the Healthy and Family Welfare Minister L Jayentakumar was to grace as the Chief Guest.
But
since the Minister was busy with his other schedules and could not turn up in time, the Director of Family welfare, Devesh Debval, IAS informed the people gathered for
the occasion, including media persons that the programme will be delayed by four hours.
The programme which commenced late in the evening was attended by the Health
Minister L Jayentakumar and the Director and Commissioner of the concern department.
The Health minister on the occasion flagged off six ambulances to six different
health centres in six districts of the state including the CHC of Jiribam in Imphal East district, District hospital Churachandpur, District hospital Chandel, District
hospital senapati, District hospital Tamenglong and the Comprehensive Health Services Research Centre, Ukhrul.
Apart from these different kits to the ASHAs were also
distributed including surgical gloves, blades, cord clamp, cotton wool, liquid hand wash, disposable plastic sheets, Paracetamol tablets, IFA (large and small) and
others.
