Imphal, December 23, 2011:
Taking serious note of the prohibition imposed by the UNC on railway work from Jiribam to Imphal since December 16, a high level security meeting was held today.
The meeting presided by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi was attended by the Chief Secretary, the DGP and the GOC of 57 Mountain Division.
The meeting also discussed on driving out UG cadres from the areas where the railway work is going on, conveyed SPF spokesperson N Biren during a press meet this evening.
Referring to the private member resolution raised by MLA O Joy about enforcement of Inner Line Permit System in Manipur during the Assembly session yesterday, Biren stated that the Government supported the motion and added that there was no question of sidelining the people's aspirations.
The PIL (WP PIL No 13 of 2008) filed at Gauhati High Court mentioned about protection from internal migrants too.
It did not talk about PAP exclusively, Biren clarified.
He also maintained that the Chief Minister never misled the State Assembly.
He further declared that the Congress party would fight the forthcoming Assembly elections on its own without forming any alliance with any other political party.
