Two native boys selected for Bravery Awards

Imphal, December 23, 2011:
Two boys from Manipur namely Johnson Tourangbam of Kwakeithel Laishram Leirak and Kshetrimayum Rakesh of Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai were
among other children from different parts of the country who have been selected for National Children Bravery Award.
Both have been selected for the honour in
recognition of their and courage in saving the lives of two drowning kids in two different incidents.
The award would be handed over to them by PM Dr Manmohan Singh
ahead of the Republic Day celebration on January 26, 2012. The names of Johnson and Rakesh have been selected from among eight cases recommended by Manipur State
Council for Child Welfare, according to a statement issued by its General Secretary Y Sarat Singh.
