Moreh, May 22 2023:
Police commandos cur-rently posted in Moreh have warned of leaving the post in the border town as home de-partment/government is still unable to send reinforcement or replacement amidst exhaustion of ration and water.
As informed by some po-lice commandos, entire police commando personnel posted at Moreh police station have suffered a lot as government and home department are yet to send reinforcement or de-pute replacement personnel.
There is no ration stock for commando personnel and no water for drinking and cooking food.
With no ration supply, commando personnel are facing near starvation and some personnel have got ill due to uninterrupted duty throughout the day and night coupled with absence of doc-tor for treatment.
Members of Nepali, Muslim and Tamil communities still unaffected by the communal clash used to provide water to commando personnel until few days back but they have stopped now allegedly due to threat from Kuki militants.
In view of the situation, all the commando personnel currently posted at the border police station have decided to leave the post and they have even ignored repeated requests by CDO OC Ksh Prakash and Special CDO SP Krishnatombi.
If the CDO post at Moreh is vacated, houses belonging to Meetei community in the bor-der town which are yet to be vandalised might be torched, they cautioned.
