Imphal, May 22 2023:
The Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) observed its 11th foundation with a small gathering due to the prevailing situation in Manipur at its office at Kwakeithel Girls High School, today.
A press release issued by AIMS said that the observance was graced by its vice president Nikerson Khumancha, Somorendro Thokchom of LIPUL, LKKL president Puyam Joy and IKAL president Ima Memma as presidium members.
Members of AIMS district committees, local units and headquarters attended the programme, it added.
Saying that the students are the one who have been affected greatly by the series of violence in Manipur, AIMS reminded that schools and colleges were closed for a prolonged period during the heights of Covid pandemic too.
Expressing desire for the Government to take up some actions for the wellbeing of the students, AIMS claimed that the conduct of Chin-Kuki militant groups is detrimental to all sections of the Manipur society.
Saying that only the Centre and the State Government can end the chain of violence taking place in Manipur, AIMS cautioned that a civil war may erupt in Manipur if the situation is not controlled at the earliest.
The Government must take responsibility for all eventuality if the Government fails to control the situation in Manipur, it said.
