Imphal, May 22 2023:
Reacting to the comment of Union min-ister of state for external affairs and education, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh on issues pertaining to the state, Communist Party of India Manipur State Council contended that the minister seems naive about obligation as an external affairs minister as well as situation in the state.
In a release, CPI/MSC pointed out that the violence being witnessed in the state is similar to second Burmese invasion, especially con-sidering the fact that heavily armed persons clad Myanmarese 'lungi' have been firing on people from the hill ranges.
Despite having a long history with 'Khongjai' brothers of Manipur, the minister seems unaware about what the new immigrants from Myanmar have been doing.
As immigrants from Myanmar are mainly creating the restive situation in the state, the external minister should shoulder his responsibility and talk to the government of Myanmar, the release said while condemning his silence on the matter.
Why did the external affairs minister make the statement that the demand of 10 MLAs for separate administrative to union government is due to the pressure of militants, the release enquired, while questioning how close rela-tionship does the union minister have with the 10 MLAs.
If he has close contact with them, then why couldn't he make them come out and apologise in public.
Asserting that CPI is against a community, the release continued that their aim is to bring peace and normalcy in the state.
However, the party will stand firm to fight against all elements scheming to disintegrate Manipur, it affirmed.
