Many extend aid to people affected by ethnic clash

Many continue to extend humanitarian aid to people affected by the communal conflict in the State.
A team of MLAs visited the relief camp at Moirang College and handed over monetary assistance of Rs 2 lakh.
The MLAs namely Sagolband AC MLA, RK Imo Singh along with Patsoi AC MLA Sapam Kunjakeshore, Lilong AC MLA Abdul Nasir, Wabagai AC MLA Dr Usham Deben, Wangkhei AC MLA Thangjam Arunkumar and Moirang AC MLA Th Shanti visited the camp and took stock of the condition of the relief camp and assured the inmates of best possible aid from the Government's side.
The team also visited another Government office at Leimaram to see whether a temporary shelter camp can be set up to house the displaced people.
Lions Club
Lions Club of Imphal extended monetary aid of Rs 15, 000 to Children Home, Kabo Leikai (Dewlahland), one of the oldest children homes in the State to help in managing the home.
It may be noted that the building where the children were staying caught fire from a neighbouring building on May 4 last, owing to which the home is going through a tough time.
MEELAL
Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL), Kangleipak also extended aid to the people victimised by the ethnic clash by donating edible items to Nongsum Mamang Leikai under Khundrakpam Assembly Constituency in Imphal East district yesterday.
A team of MEELAL led by its president Khaidem Ingocha carried out the distribution drive, said a press note by MEELAL.
During the visit, one of the womenfolk narrated the ordeal of the villagers who are living under constant threat of being attacked by the other community.
She expressed dismay over the Government's indifference attitude towards the affected villagers who are left on their own without any protection.
Meanwhile United Club Organisation, Kakching Wairi extended monetary aid to Yengkhom Menjor, a resident of Kakching Sumak Leikai Panjao Pareng who sustained bullet injuries during the people's movement at Kakching on May 4 night.
