CM inaugurates SBI Yairipok Branch

Imphal, September 29 2021:
Chief minister N Biren on Wednesday inaugurated State Bank of India (SBI) of Yairipok Branch via video conference from his office secretariat.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister highlighted that financial inclusion is a necessity for achieving inclusive growth in the region.
He appreciated the sincere efforts of SBI towards providing soft loans to thousands of entrepreneurs, individuals, SHGs, etc, in the state.
He also expressed his happiness that SBI is providing loans to another 25,000 individuals/beneficiaries soon and urged SBI to support the entrepreneurs and MSME sectors of the state.
The CM also urged SBI officials to consider opening up their branches in hill and remote areas of the state.
Moirang MLA P Sharatchandra, chief secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, additional chief secretary P Vaiphei, secretary to CM Ningthoujam Geoffrey, top officials of SBI and others were present during the inaugural function.
Later, Wangkhem MLA Keisham Meghachandra physically opened the SBI Yairipok Branch along with chief general manager SBI North Eastern Circle RS Ramesh, DGM SBI Administrative Office (Shillong) Amit Kumar, Imphal regional manager Girindra Sarma and JAMIAT-U-LEMA Manipur president Shayeed Ahamad.
During the function, Meghachandra stated that the opening of new SBI Branch at Yairipok is a long awaited dream of the people.
The location of the bank in central area of Yairipok which can be accessible from all parts of Yairipok and can even provide banking benefits to parts of Imphal East, Ukhrul and Thoubal districts.
He also noted that economic activities will be surely enhanced with the opening and support of this bank.
