World Heart Day 2021 observed

Thoubal, September 29 2021:
NCD Cell, District Health Society, Thoubal on Wednesday observed the 'World Heart Day 2021' at Urban Primary Health Centre, Phouden under the theme "Use Heart to connect with every Heart".
The inaugural programme was attended by Dr Y Nokul Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Thoubal; Dr M Rakhesh Meetei, MO in Charge; UPHC Phouden and Ch Basanta Singh, District Programme Manager, DHS, Thoubal as presidium members.
As a part of the programme, Dr Y Nokul Singh flagged off the Walkathon participated by the health staff, ASHAs and people of the area.
The walkathon went around Phouden village with a message for good health for every human being.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Y Nokul Singh stated that 'World Heart Day' is observed to spread awareness about heart diseases among the people and how they can overcome & cure/prevent it.
He appealed to the participants to keep their blood pressure in control, cholesterol and maintain a healthy weight, eat a healthy diet, get regular exercise, to get enough sleep, etc.
As a part of observance, a screening camp was also held at UPHC Phouden, in which 30 patients were screened for ECG, Blood Sugar, HTN, Lipid Profile.
Among them 4 patients were found to be diabetic, 2 HTN, 3 with heart problems and 1 had a high lipid profile.
They were later advised for further treatment at NCD Clinic Thoubal.
