PANDM voices for people affected by drought in 2019

People's Action For National Democratic Movement (PANDM) on behalf of the households affected by the drought of 2019, appealed to the authorities concerned to release the monetary aid sanctioned by the Central Government at the earliest.
PANDM in a press release stated that with an aim to provide relief assistance to the affected households under National Disaster Relief Fund, a survey report was submitted by the Deputy Commissioners of the respective districts and as per the reports, the Central Government had sanctioned a sum of Rs 24.65 crores to be provided to the affected households.
However the amount has not been released till date and is pending in the Finance Department since May, 2021 as per the information received from the official sources, added the press release.
In view of the hardships faced by the affected people coupled with the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic, PANDM sought the attention of the Government to help in releasing the compensation amount at the earliest.
Further PANDM also urged the authorities concerned to help in providing compensation to those people affected by the cyclone in 2019 as a report has already been submitted to the State Level Committee in this regard.
