Public urged to follow Covid protocols

Imphal, December 24 2022:
Even though the state is maintaining Covid-free status for four consecutive days on Saturday, the state health department has issued advisory to the public to follow Covid appropriate behaviour considering the global surge in new Covid-19 cases.
Issuing a press release, the Common Control Room appealed to the public to get tested if they have flu like symptoms or if they are suspicious of having infected by the virus.
Stressing the need for maintaining vigil in view of the rising tide of another Covid wave in different countries, the press release appealed to the public to get their vaccine doses including precautionary doses, wear masks in public places, and maintain social distancing as much as possible.
Meanwhile, 52 samples were tested in the state in the last 24 hours without yielding any positive results.
So far, the virus has claimed 2149 lives including seven CAPF personnel, and infected 1,39,922 individuals including 5,022 CAPF personnel.
In the last 24 hours, 10 vaccine doses were administered and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 16,48,677 people, out of which 13,38,094 had received the second dose and 2,79,096 taken precautionary doses.
