Imphal, February 06 2022:
Asserting that the election manifesto of the Congress party is not like the false promises made by BJP, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson N Bhupenda said that the alliance of Congress and other parties will definitely defeat the flawed BJP government in the upcoming state assembly election.
Addressing a press conference at Congress Bhawan here on Sunday, Bhupenda recounted that prior to the 2017 elections, BJP promised to provide 7.5 lakh jobs to the educated unemployed youth of the state within five years if the party came to power.
However, the government did not even issue notification for recruitment of 7.5 lakh jobs.
Though the government initiated recruitment process in some departments, they could not complete those processes, he said.
The spokesperson also accused BJP of lying not only in the state assembly but also in the parliament.
In response to a question raised by former BJP MP of Rajya Sabha K Bhabananda, the then union MoS for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju assured of sanctioning 11IRB battalions to the state but the government has not been able to create a single battalion till date.
The BJP government has not been able to conduct a single MPSC examination in the last five years and as such there are no new MCS and MPS officers in the state, he said and added that Congress and its-allies will frame a permanent recruitment policy to ensure regular conduct of MPSC examination if re-elected to power.
He also slammed the BJP government for its latest policy of barring permanent recruitment for group A, B, C and D posts and making them contract posts with half pay.
He called the policy as anti-people and anti-youth, which is against the very idea of a welfare state.
Congress and its allies will withdraw this policy and provide full 7th CPC to the state government employees if elected, he maintained.
The then Ibobi government entrusted MPS officers as SP of different districts but the BJP government annulled the policy, Bhupenda further said.
Alleging that the government is ignoring and undermining importance of MCS and MPS officers in government set-up, he assured of a special policy for such officers and setting up staff selection commission for recruitment of group C and non-gazetted posts if Congress and its allies come to power.
AICC social media department national convener Pranav Vaccharajani and Manila Congress president Mutum Sarma were also present during the press conference.
