Bishnupur, March 16 2023:
Expressing serious resentment over non-is-suance of admit card to a girl student by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) despite completion of all formalities in time for appearing in the HSLC-2023 examination, Development & Protection United Voluntary Organisation (DPUVO) has urged the authority concerned to take up necessary measures to ensure the student does Jaripriya Khangembam, d/o Khangembam Hera of Nambol Makha Leikai, who has been preparing to appear in the said examination conducted by BSEM from Bethel English School, Nambol, has been deprived of her right as she had not been issued admit card by the board.
A total of 105 students of the school were registered for the examination out of which 95 submitted relevant fees and documents.
However, admit cards for only the BSEM.
Addressing media persons in this regard at its Nambol office on Thursday, DPUVO secretary Thokchom Lam-jingba informed that authorities of Bethel English School and parents of Jaripriya had submitted the fees and requisite documents to Board in time, with the same confirmed on the BSEM portal.
However, Jaripriya's admit card was not issued, thereby jeopardising her hard work and preparation for the examination which started from Thursday.
Thokchom Lamjingba further informed that the school authority had even submitted a written complaint to BSEM regarding the matter on February 28 last but no response was received.
Since there is no fault from the side of the student or the school authority, the BSIsM should ensure that Jaripriya does not suffer loss of academic year and do the needful to facilitate her appearance in the remaining subjects as scheduled and the missed subject in the compartment exam, suggested the secretary.
DPUVO president Taorem Khaba Khuman, working president Konsam Suleshor, Nambol Apunba Nupi Lup secretary Laiphrak-pam Premila, Kanglei Panas-Nambol branch secretary Moirangthem Sakhi and parents of the student were also present during the media briefing.
