Central Agricultural University to conduct international conference on NF-RERA

A 3-day international conference on 'Natural Farming for Revitalizing Environment and Resilient Agriculture (NF-RERA)' will be held from tomorrow (March 17, 2023) organised by the Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal.
The conference will be conducted at the College of Agriculture (COA) campus, Iroisemba.
Addressing media persons during a press meet held in connection with the conference at the College yesterday, Dean Professor Indira Sarangthem said that delegates including scientists and research scholars from the country and abroad will participate in the conference.
She continued that the conference will be held on eight themes with a technical session for each theme which will be addressed by the Vice-chancellor, Director and High level officers.
During the 3-day conference, 25 lead papers will be presented by scientists on agriculture and allied discipline, she added.
She further stated that in-depth discussion and interaction programmes will also be held.
Professor Indira Sarangthem maintained that practising reckless farming activities pollute the environment leading to ecological imbalance impacting the living beings considerably.
Therefore resorting to natural farming methods which are environmental friendly will help in tackling these serious issues which will serve as a long-term solution, she said.
Stating that the conference is being organised to sensitize the masses about the multiple benefits of natural farming, she expressed belief that the conference will bring forth many valuable ideas in the field of agriculture and allied activities.
Head of Extension Education, COA, CAU, Dr Angad Prasad; Head of Entomology Department, Dr Kh Ibohal and Organising Secretary of the conference, Dr SM Haldhar also attended the press meet.
