AR holds recruitment training, plants saplings

Modi Battalion Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) launched a 'pre-recruitment training' at Chandel from March 11 which will continue till March 25 .
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the training is focused in improving physical fitness, preparation for written exam and career guidance to the aspirants.
In the true spirit of being Friends of the North East People', Assam Rifles is determined to train the local youth for various Armed Forces recruitment rallies and instill the spirit of pride as one serves for his nation, the PRO said, adding that a total of 29 aspirants are currently undergoing the training.
Meanwhile, Churachand-pur Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a mega tree plantation drive to promote of forestation under the theme of "Adopt a tree campaign" at S Khullen on Thursday.
According to the PRO, the plantation drive was focused upon imbibing the importance of trees and spreading awareness amongst locals and troops on saving earth by planting more trees.
The villagers were also briefed upon adopting eco-friendly lifestyle thereby contributing towards mother earth and cleaner environment.
A total of 50 saplings of fruits, shady and local variety of plants were planted as part of the plantation drive at S Khullen.
A total of 20 locals attended the plantation drive.
The local populace ex-pressed their willingness to work together with Assam Rifles towards a safer, secure and greener environment in future also.
They also expressed gratitude to security forces for conducting such informative and eco-friendly events, added the PRO in another release.
