State last in PAI-2020

According to the Public Affairs Index (PAI) published by Bangalore-based think tank Public Affairs Centre (PAC), Kerala has once again ranked as the state with the best governance among the big states, followed by Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh in second and third place respectively.
The ranking, which was published on October 31, is based on 5 themes, 13 sustainable development goals (SDGs) and 50 indicators.
The SDGs parameters include crime, female worker population and gender population, etc.
The rankings were divided into three clusters, wherein Kerala scored the best overall rank, followed by Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh was placed last as the state with worst governance among the large states.
Among the small states, Goa ranked the first, followed by Meghalaya, and Himachal Pradesh in second and third place respectively, while Manipur is the last spot.
Chandigarh topped the ranking among the union territories, closely followed by Puducherry and Lakshadweep.
Dadar and Nagar Haveli ranked last among the UTs.
The report also ranked the states on equity pillar, with Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Chhattisgarh scoring the first, second and third place respectively among the big states.
UP continued to rank last in this category as well.
For the small states, Meghalaya topped, while Himachal Pradesh and Manipur ranked second and third respectively.
In the growth imperative category, Kerala again took the top spot, followed by Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, with Uttar Pradesh last.
Among the small states, Goa, Himachal and Sikkim scored first, second and third respectively, while Manipur scored last.
With regard to the pillar of sustainability, Kerala Was ranked first, Tamil Nadu second and Telangana third.
Goa topped among the small states, followed by Meghalaya and Sikkim in second and third respectively while Manipur ranked 8th in this category.
