MPP to contest in 40 ACs

Manipur People's Party (MPP) is all set to fight the forthcoming election to the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly from 40 assembly constituencies in both hills and valley, according to MPP president L Krishnadas.
Addressing a press meet at the party office here on Thursday, Krishnadas said that the party is ready to fight the 2022 election with around 40-strong intending candidates and the party is confident that maximum of its candidates will win the election.
The party has been working by focusing on the objective of protecting the state.
The party was once in power in the state and the public are well aware of the difference between the functioning and achievement of the MPP government and the present government, he said, while calling for public support to the party for a better future of the state.
MPP general secretary H Geetajen said that the party has already declared candidate for Moirang, Sugnu, Andro, Sagolband, Kumbi, Singjamei and Konthoujam assembly constituencies.
Candidates for Lilong and Hiyanglam assembly constituencies will be announced soon and after that the party will announce candidates for the remaining ACs in the valley districts as well as one AC each in Churachandpur and Ukhrul districts, he said.
He also appealed to the people of the state to entrust the party to form the next government and bring about a better Manipur.
MPP working president M Amutombi was also present at the press meet.
