Voters urged to break money-for-vote trend

All Manipur Disabled and Handicapped Persons Agency distributed monthly pension for differently abled persons in a function held at Chingamakha Kshetri Leikai Nambul Mapal on Thursday.
NPP intending candidate for Singjamei AC Oinam Romen, who attended the event, said that service to humanity is like serving God and differently abled persons should never be looked down upon.
He also said that differently abled persons possess some unique qualities and they could do many things which normal people do not have or could perform.
While stating that it is responsibility of every normal person, to support differently abled persons and the government too needs to formulate a policy for them, Romen said that he hasbeen dreaming about a concrete policy for differently abled persons for a long time but could not translate the same into action for being a normal person.
Romen further said that he decided to contest election to enable him to take up welfare policies for the people including differently abled persons.
According to Romen, majority of voters in Singjamei AC are educated and they are not expected to vpte for candidates who use money and muscle power in election but to candidate who believes in truth.
He then appealed to people of the constituency to teach lesson to candidates who try to woo voters with money and muscle power in election.
Romen further said that he has been providing pension to differently abled persons since the year 2015 and is planning to take up various welfare activities and policies if elected in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election likely to be held in early part of 2022 .
