Imphal, November 04 2021:
In all, 250 women of Laishram Leikai, Akham Leikai, Irom Leikai, Keisham Leiakai, Konjeng Leikai and Thokchom Leikai under Naoriya Pakhanglakpa constituency, who previously supported ex-MLA Rk Anand, have joined the camp of intending candidate S Kebi on Thursday.
A felicitation ceremony in honour of new supporters was held at Kebi's residence at Ningthemcha Karong.
Speaking on the occasion, S Kebi questioned the developmental activities taken up by the ex-MLA, who was elected by the people with the hope that he would work for the welfare of the state and the constituency for ten years.
Everybody remembers the term of the ex-MLA where completed bridge collapsed on the day of inauguration.
It is also widely known about the contract works done by him (ex-MLA), she said.
Pointing out that there is no one on earth who does not love their motherland, Kebi said that she will not be like those who love motherland only through mere words and not through deeds.
It is shameful to think how the people will look at him (ex-MLA) for trying to contest election again after announcing retirement from politics by holding a press conference, she belittled, while adding that people are fed up of politics after seeing such politicians.
She further accused the ex-MLA of trying to suppress women candidate in spite of his bold claims of working for women empowerment and further questioned whether there is any need for getting higher educational qualification for contesting election.
While citing Jayalalitha, who was chief minister of Tamil Nadu for six terms, Kebi said that Jayalalitha was only Class X passed, but the people remembered her as 'Amma' even after her death.
She questioned what praiseworthy activities the ex-MLA, who knows law very well and highly educated, have done for the people.
During the felicitation function, a stole each was presented to the new supporters of Kebi.
