The 18th death anniversary of Lungnila Elizabeth, daughter of former minister Francis Ngajokpa, was observed at Thoithoi Adventure Park, Hiyangthang Takhellambam Konjin with Kh Inaoba of Kyamgei as host of the event.
Kh Inaoba has been hosting the event every year after the girl was abducted from the gate of her, school, Little Flowers' School and found dead on November 4, 2003 .
Speaking at the event, Inaoba informed that he is hosting the event with the hope that such gruesome crime is never repeated.
He did not have any ulterior motive in hosting the event.
He was moved by the statement of school girl's father, Francis Ngajokpa, who said that Lungnila is not only his daughter but daughter of the entire Manipur, and as such he took up the responsibility of hosting the event every year, Inaoba said.
Every year, he donated whatever he could to children's homes as part of the observance.
But this year, he is providing some cash assistance along with sweets and fruits to artistes of Mami Artistes' Association as Shuman Leela artistes are among the worst affected section of the society by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Stating that these artistes have no other means of livelihood, he appealed to the state government to give some relaxation in staging Shumang Leela so that they could continue their work.
