Five cases detected; TPR, active cases rising

Imphal, April 16 2022:
Daily test positivity rate and number of active cases are gradually rising in the state as Saturday reported five new positive cases out of 243 samples tested in the last 24 hours, registering 2.06 per cent positivity rate against 1.72 per cent recorded on Friday.
The TPR had reached 5.31 per cent on Thursday.
No death cases were reported in the last 24 hours and the toll stands at 2120 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated people of which 61 had received second doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
In the last 24 hours, three patients were discharged from Covid Care facilities.
Number of active cases rose to 51 out of which 20 (39.22 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 299 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 189 in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 11,402 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 96 new positive cases but no fatality.
The weekly number of new cases is 41.According to official reports, all the five fresh cases (3 male & 2 female) are from among the general population and they are from Imphal East (1), Imphal East (1), Kakching (1) and Chandel (2) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,37,190 (general population - 1,32,176 and CAPF personnel - 5,014) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,35,019 (general population - 1,30,012 and CAPF personnel - 5,007) and number of active cases is 51 (general population - 51 and CAPF personnel - 0) .
The recovery rate is 98.42 per cent.
A total of 120 D-type and 18 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while only 68 vaccine doses were administered on Friday.
The cumulative number of vaccinated population reached 15,49,661, out of which 11,91,893 had received the second doses and 69,948 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,740), Imphal East (30,440), Thoubal (10,156), Churachandpur (11,054), Kangpokpi (3131), Tamenglong (3478), Bishnupur (9834), Senapati (2492), Ukhrul (3274), Kakching (6895), Chandel (2725), Noney (1158), Tengnoupal (1201), Jiribam (1111), Kamjong (1036) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (704), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (189), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (67), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (51), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5), and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,212 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,652 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,17,689 tests per million population against the national average of 5,65,921 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate stands at 8.54 per cent.
