Campaign against price rise continues

Imphal, April 16 2022:
As part of campaign being launched against arbitrary hiking of prices of petrol and other essential commodities as well as against corruption and drugs, the Left Coordination Committee, Manipur offered floral tributes to the statue of Hijam Irabot at Keibi Mana Ching and raised slogans against the government's indifferent attitude towards grievances of the common people.
Regarding the campaign held on Saturday, CPI Manipur State Council secretary L Sotinkumar said that a new group of leaders have decided to revive the erstwhile Red Guard, Peoples Service Corp and accordingly took blessings from former Red Guard leaders namely Ibungo N, Moirangningthou and another follower by presenting them a shawl each.
He then appealed to people to fight against drugs and widespread poppy cultivation, corruption and price hike of petrol and other essential commodities while alleging that these issues are causing immense hardships to the people due to BJP government's policy of endorsing some wealthy people and levying of numerous taxes from the common people.
Irabot Memorial Trust, Keibi secretary L Tombi Chanu also appealed to people to prepare for various forms of agitations to be launched against drugs, price hike and corruption.
The gathering then resolved to revive Red Guards.
