Nemcha Kipgen interacts with PMGKAY beneficiaries at Kpi

Kangpokpi, April 16 2022:
As part of the 'Samajik Nyay Pakhwada', Textiles, Commerce and Industry and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen on Friday distributed free rice under Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) at Kangpokpi.
Nemcha Kipgen distributed 5 Kg of rice each in a bag printed with the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister N Biren Singh, and herself to all the beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that PMGKAY has assured the people that the Government is standing with them in every trouble and free ration is ensured to every household.
She continued that the PM has underlined his sensitivity to the poor and commitment towards the welfare of weaker sections of the society.

Stating that PMGKAY has helped in tackling poverty and inequality, the Minister said, "BJP Government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi has decided to extend the PMGKAY till September this year in keeping with the concern and sensitivity towards the poor and vulnerable sections of society" .
"The extension of the food security program for another six months by the double engine Government will be the 6th phase of the programme as the 5th phase of the scheme culminated in March.
Considered as the world's largest food security programme, PMGKAY was launched in April 2020 during the first wave of COVID-19 pandemic", she added.
Nemcha Kipgen also mentioned that in the Double-Engine Government, the State Government under the leadership of CM N Biren Singh supplemented and improved the scheme of the Central Government.
"It is under the double-engine Government that every poor household will get double the normal quantity of ration as each beneficiary will get an additional 5 Kg free ration per month to the normal quota of food grains under the NFSA", she asserted.
