Imphal, June 16 2026:
Taking strong exception to the State Government's failure to take any concrete action even after knowing fully that the six Naga hostages were murdered by KNF-P in the most barbarous manner, senior advocate Khaidem Mani has asked if the State Government is supporting terrorists.
Speaking to media persons at his Loklaobung residence today, Khaidem Mani decried that the State Government led by Yumnam Khemchand has been acting mute and blind even after knowing well that Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen's husband Thangboi Kipgen who is the leader of KNF(P) is involved in several acts of terrorism.

When Nemcha Kipgen's husband is involved in acts of terrorism, it is not right to retain her as the State's Deputy Chief Minister, he said.
The senior advocate asserted that Nemcha Kipgen should be removed from the post of Deputy Chief Minister and her husband Thangboi Kipgen should be arrested.
Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho has unequivocally told Northeast Live that it was KNF-P cadres who tortured and butchered the six Naga hostages in the most savage manner, Khaidem Mani said.
He pointed out that it is the responsibility of the Council of Ministers to listen to the people's voice and deliver justice.
Several organisations and the people have pointed out that Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen's husband is serving as the leader of a militant group and his group has been committing unspeakable acts of terrorism.
The State Government must listen to the people's voice and Nemcha Kipgen must step down from the post of Deputy Chief Minister.
If she does not step down, she must be pulled down, Khaidem Mani said.
Questioning why not a single FIR has been registered against Thangboi Kipgen, the senior advocate asserted that Thangboi Kipgen must be arrested.
Whether Nemcha Kipgen's husband Thangboi Kipgen was involved in the murder of the six Naga hostages or not will be known after investigation in Court.
As of now, the Government must listen to the people's voice and demand, and arrest Thangboi Kipgen, he said.
He also demanded abrogation of the SoO signed with Kuki militants.
If Nemcha Kipgen is not removed from the post of Deputy Chief Minister, it will be safe to assume that the incumbent BJP Government is supporting terrorism, Khaidem Mani said.
The State Government needs to demonstrate that there is rule of law in Manipur.
It ought to register an FIR against KNF-P leader Thangboi Kipgen, he added.
