He made the remark while handing over the renovated Kwakeithel Akham Leikai Singlup Community Hall, upgraded under the Local Area Development Fund, to the locality today.

Saying that he stands firmly for the territorial integrity of Manipur, the MLA emphasised that the people must embrace one another and work towards building unity and harmony.
He also said that the demand for the inclusion of Meeteis in the Scheduled Tribe list can be pursued in a systematic manner.
Further stating that development works were severely hampered due to the crisis that began on May 3, 2023, and the imposition of President's Rule due to fund constraints and other issues, Nishikant said that the new State Government has begun infrastructure development works as funds have started to be released.
Nishikant said that he will try to blacktop all roads in his Constituency up to residential gate areas.
The MLA also said that he would add another floor to the renovated community hall, as desired by the local people, if he is re-elected.
Public satisfaction is his reward, he said, adding that he does not wish to give blind assurances to please a section of people.
Former MLA of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC RK Anand and a member of Kwakeithel Akham Leikai Singlup Nameirakpam Khelen also attended the programme.
RK Anand lauded Nishikant for his exemplary work despite being an Independent MLA .
As a token of appreciation for renovating the community hall, the Kwakeithel Akham Leikai Singlup presented a simple gift to Nishikant.
The MLA also shared a meal with the local people.
