Imphal, March 02 2022:
Chief Minister N Biren Singh has invited militant outfits to come to the negotiation table so as to help bring about a peaceful India.
The CM made the statement during the election campaign of Nungba AC BJP candidate Dinganglung Gangmei alias Dipu Gangmei at Thanagong ground in Khoupum Valley on Wednesday.
Biren iterated Union Home Minister Amit Shah's announcement inviting militant outfits to lay down arms and come forward for talks, while guaranteeing safety and no jail time.
As such, he urged the militant outfits in the state to shun the path of violence and instead join the mainstream to join the process of peace and development.
He continued that although it was difficult to accomplish many things due to the government being a coalition, efforts were made to bridge the gap between the hills and the valley.
Nungba is the centre point along the Imphal-Jiribam route but did not have a blood bank or a trauma centre nearby during the time of Congress.
However, huge changes have been brought under the supervision of PM Modi, he said.
Biren then commented on the large number of intending BJP candidates, and said that it is because of the candidates' inclination towards the PM's vision.
Majority of the intending candidates who did not get the party tickets extended full support to the ones who got the ticket, although 1 or 2 went on to join other political parties.
The CM said: "After a detailed analysis, it has been predicted that BJP will win 30 out of 38 seats in the first phase of the polls.
Thus, BJP is sure to form the government all due to the love and support of the people".
In his speech, BJP national spokesperson Dr Sambit Patra lauded the 'Go to Hills' initiative launched by CM N Biren and stated that it has helped bring the hills and the valley closer.
He then said that BJP has practically formed the next government from the first phase of the polls, as it will be winning 30 out of 38 seats, and as such, urged the people to vote for the party while keeping the future in mind.
The new government will hold cabinet meeting in the hills, including at Nungba and Khoupum, he conveyed.
Meanwhile, 18 families in Nungba and 22 in Noney, who were formerly INC voters, joined BJP during the event.
