TA & Hills in soup over job notification

A legal notice was served to the Tribal Affairs & Hills (TA & Hills) department for issuing what is alleged to be an impugned notification in connection with the recruitment of posts under ADC Ukhrul.
The notice also called for the department to publish a fresh notification as per the norms within seven days of receipt of the legal notice served to additional chief secretary (TA & Hills) by advocate Phokmi Rephung on behalf of his client Cherish Siranao, son of Hoping Siranao of Sirarakhong village, Ukhrul district.
A per the notice served on December 1, TA & Hills department had issued an impugned notification on November 9, 2022 for recruitment of 125 group C & D posts under ADC, Ukhrul.
The recruitment notice issued in pursuance of the approval of the state cabinet and in concurrence of department of personnel, Manipur order issued on October 31, 2022 as well other relevant departments failed to comply with the high court order thereby depriving the right of advocate's client to participate in the direct recruitment.
It further informed that the department concerned failed to notify/include in the said notification, the desirable qualification of persons knowing local dialect in respect of primary teacher as per Para 4.11 and 5.2 of the National Education Policy 2020.The legal notice then directed the department to publish a fresh notification as per the provisions laid down in Rule 4 of the Rules of 1960 and as per National Education Policy 2020 within seven days from the day of receipt of the legal notice.
In case of default, necessary.
legal course of action would be initiated against the department including filing of a writ petition before the high court in the matter without further notice, it warned.
