No retiree working: Vety director

Refuting a report carried by some local dailies that a retired staff is being utilised at the head office of Directorate of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, veterinary director Dr Ng Ibotombi has clarified that there is no such re-engagement of retiree.
Addressing media persons at his office chamber here, on Thursday, Dr Ng Ibotombi dismissed as baseless reports carried by some local dailies about the directorate utilising a UDC staff who retired in 2018 following superannuation.
The director, however, confided that the directorate consults and collects relevant information from the retired staffer considering the particular UDC's experience and thorough knowledge about court cases but without payment of any salary.
The retired staff is unrelated with service matter of the office, file processing, fund allocation and confidential matters as alleged in the news report, Dr Ibotombi said and further clarified that the retired staff is not involved in any official matter.
It is Common practice for various government departments to consult experienced retired staff and there is nothing illegal is this, he added.
