Deaths condoled

Shri Shri Balmukunda Dev Government Music College, Palace Compound and Lalit Kala Sangam Manipur, Loklaobung condoled the untimely demise of Tabla artiste Nongthombam Nongthon Singh.
Teachers and staffers of both institutes observed two minutes' silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul at their respective office premises.
Meanwhile, Malem Apunba Thang-ta Maheikol (MATAM) mourned the demise of its former athlete Thongam Josh Meitei of Nongpok Sanjenbam Shangsabi who lost his life on Tuesday night in a road accident on his way home after attending rehearsal for the closing ceremony of Manipur Sangai Festival.
In a release, MATAM informed that instructors, students and volunteers of the organisation held a meeting to condole the demise of Josh and observed two minutes' silence.
Cine Rights and Playwrights Forum Manipur also convened a meeting to condole the demise of its founder member and screenplay writer Laimayum Dhanachandra sharma and observed a two minutes ' silence at Uripok Bachaspati office of the Forum on Thursday.
The forum recounted that Dhanachandra took great responsibilities in the period of transition between Celluloid and Digital films in Manipur.
As a screenplay writer, he penned stories of some of popular Manipuri movies including 'Kanaga Hinghougani', 'Aroiba Natte', 'Amamba Su Anganbani', 'Ingengi Atiya', 'Anjali', 'Meitei Chanu', Kaorage, etc.
