Two more die as TPR rises in state

Imphal, September 29 2021:
The state on Wednesday reported two new fatalities and 210 positive cases out of 2794 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 7.52 per cent against 7.46 per cent recorded on Tuesday.
Though the positivity rate in the state is below 8 per cent, Kamjong district recorded 22.2 per cent while Imphal East (12 per cent), Imphal West (10.1 per cent), Ukhrul(9.1 per cent), Kakching (9 per cent), and Tengnoupal (8.7 per cent) also recorded high positivity rate.
The active caseload rose to 2207 out of which 415 (18.80 per cent) are in home isolation.
As of Wednesday evening, 558 beds including 109 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals and 2818 beds in different Covid Care Centres.
So far, the state has recorded 91,026 positive cases and 1480 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
The current month recorded 6493 new cases and 72 fatalities out of which 1385 new cases and 18 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 210 new positive cases included 206 people (105 male & 101 female) from among the general population and 4 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were tested at RIMS (9), JNIMS (38) and other testing centres (163) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (49), Imphal West (105), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (7), Kakching (6), Ukhrul (14), Churachand-ur (13), Chandel (3), Senapati (2), Tengnoupal (2), Kamjong (2) and Noney (1) .
The two death cases reported in the last 24 hours were from Imphal East (1) and Imphal West (1), out of which one had received first dose and the other second dose of Covid vaccine.
So far, 108 vaccinated people including 11 fully vaccinated individuals have died of Covid-19.The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1854.In the last 24 hours, 144 patients were discharged from home isolation (43), RIMS (3), JNIMS (10), CCCs (80) and CHICs (8) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,20,426 (general population - 1,16,142 and CAPF personnel - 4,284).Number of recovered cases is 1,16,365 (generalpopulation - 1,12,119 and CAPF personnel - 4,246) and number of active cases is 2,207 (general population - 2,174 and CAPF personnel -33).The recovery rate is 96.63 percent.
In the last 24 hours, 1115 D-type and 353 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
On Tuesday, 8064 vaccine doses were administered and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 12,21,557 including 4,68,360 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in differ ent districts are Imphal West (41,462), Imphal East (26,637), Thoubal (9321), Churachandpur (10,030), Kangpokpi (2751), Tamenglong (3259), Bishnupur (8998), Senapati (2198), Ukhrul (2736), Kakching (6347), Chandel (2283), Noney (1060), Tengnoupal (1038), Jiribam (1015), Kamjong (858) and Pherzawl (433) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (616), Imphal East (437), Thoubal (169), Churachandpur (158), Kangpokpi (59), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur 187), Senapati (9), Ukhrul (33) J, Kakching (110), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 38,810 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,140 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,18,499 tests per million population against the national average of 4,06,242 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2794 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 7.52 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 9.27 per cent.
