One fatality, 32 new cases reported

Government bulletins on Wednesday reported 32 new positive cases pf Covid-19 out of 1397 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 2.29 per cent against 2.99 pc recorded on Tuesday.
One death case was also reported on Wednesday and it took the toll from the pandemic to 2113.The victim was a fully vaccinated resident of Tengnoupal district.
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 190 vaccinated persons of which 60 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 28 patients were discharged from home isolation (17), RIMS (3), JNIMS (2) and CCCs (6) .
The active cases came down to 306 out of which 128 (41.83 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 280 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 81 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, only three were free from the infectious disease on Wednesday.
So far, the state has recorded 11,047 positive cases and 111 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 52 new positive cases and 1 fatality.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 237 and 9 respectively.
According to official reports, the 32 fresh cases included 28 persons (17 male & 11 female) from among the general population and 4 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (2), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (29) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (4), Imphal West (12), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (2), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (1), Tengnoupal (1), Churachandpur (1) and Ukhrul (1).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,835 (general population - 1,31,822 and CAPF personnel - 5,013) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,34,416 general population - 129.423 and CAPF personnel - 4,993) and number of active cases is 306 (generalpppulation - 293 and CAPF personnel - 13) .
The recovery rate is 98.23 per cent.
A total of 434 D-type and 155 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 3004 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 15,12,416, out of which 11,39,965 had received second doses and 59,733 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,629), Imphal East (30,382), Thoubal (10,124), Churachandpur (11,038), Kangpokpi (3123), Tamenglong (3468), Bishnupur (9803), Senapati (2478), Ukhrul (3259), Kakching (6867), Chandel (2705), Noney (1154), Tengnoupal (1196), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1034) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (702), Imphal East (510), Thoubal (188), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (50), Kakching (121), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,098 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,615 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,07,925 tests per million population against the national average of 5,48,413 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only, 1397 samples were tested and the Single day positivity rate was 2.29 per cent while the cumulative rate came down to 8.68 per cent.
