DA/DR of employees, pensioners hiked by 7 pc

The state government has hiked the Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief (DA/ DR) of its employees, pensioners and family pensioners by 7 per cent.
According to an office memorandum issued by the pay implementation cell of finance department, the DA/DR of state government employees, pensioner and family pensioners will be 14 per cent from October 1 .
The office memorandum also scheduled further enhancement of DA/DR which is 3.5 per cent hike on April 1, 2022; another 3.5 per cent hike on June 1, 2022; and 7 per cent hike on December 1, 2022 .
By December next year, the DA/DR rate will be at 28 per cent of the basic pay, which is the prescribed level in the Pay Matrix but does not include any other type of pay like personal or special pay.
The DA will continue to be a distinct element of remuneration and will not be treated as pay within the ambit of FR 9(21) .
The DR at the indicated rate will also be admissible on the additional basic pension/additional family pension available to older pensioner/family pensioners based on their age.
Other provisions governing grant of DR in respect of employed family pensioners and re-employed state government pensioners will remain unchanged.
It will be the responsibility of the pension disbursing authority, including the nationalized banks to calculate the quantum of DR payable in each individual case while the accountant general (A&E) Manipur and authorised public sector banks shall arrange payment of relief to pensioners on the basis of the given instruction, the office memorandum said.
