Imphal, January 18 2023:
Appalled over the seizure of huge consignment of illicit drugs from Moreh police commando personnel, Kuki Chiefs' Association (KCA), Tengnoupal District has appealed to the government to initiate appropriate action against the arrested cops to the extent of terminating them from services so as to give others a lesson.
In a release, KCA president LS Seikhojang Baite said that it has been relentlessly assisting the government in its fight against drugs and further wondered as to why police commandos have become no different from peddlers.
He urged the government to give befitting punishment to the arrested personnel and acknowledge the integrity of Kakching police commando for upholding the morality of the department through seizure of drugs from their own personnel posted in Moreh.
Further KCA cautioned that it will be forced to demand removal of police commando from the district if such greed-induced unethical activity is not stopped once and for all.
In tune with this, he argued that the reason for opposing the recent government initiative of opening of a new police outpost is because the state forces are more of a concern to worry with the government uniform personnel caught with drugs intermittently.
While maintaining that drug menace will worsen if law keepers become law-breakers, Seikhojang appealed to all to refrain from indulging in illicit drugs and lewd activities and help the government in developing a drug-free state.
