State logs 45 new cases, highest TPR since Jan 31

Imphal, July 11 2022:
The stale on Monday reported 45 new positive cases of Covid-19 from six districts, out of 290 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The new cases as well as the test positivity rate of 15.52 per cent recorded on Monday were respectively the highest daily new cases recorded in the state since February 24 and the highest daily positivity rate since January 31.February 24 recorded 56 new cases and the daily new cases continued downward trend since then.
On the other hand, January 31 reported 17.55 per cent daily positivity rate while the next day reported 15.30 per cent.
The 45 fresh cases (21 male & 24 female) are residents of Imphal West (21), Imphal East (15), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (2), Churachandpur (2) and Chandel (2) districts.
Monday also reported 17 recoveries from home isolation (14) and Shija Hospital (3) but no death case was reported in the last 24 hours.
Number of active cases rose to 172, out of which, 145 (84.30 per cent) are in home isolation.
Till date, the pandemic has claimed 2120 lives including seven CAPF personnel and infected 1,37,484 individuals including 5,014 CAPF personnel.
The virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated people, out of which 61 had received second doses of Covid vaccines.
There are 14 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 47 in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 239 positive cases since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 214 new positive cases.
The cumulative positivity rate for the current month is 8.98 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 112 D-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities and 174 vaccine doses administered which took the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 15,98,079, out of which 12,66,546 had received second doses and 1,19,853 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48875), Imphal East (30515), Thoubal (10168), Churachandpur (11062), Kangpokpi (3137), Tamenglong (3479), Bishnupur (9855), Senapati (2495), Ukhrul (3282), Kakching (6905), Chandel (2735), Noney (1161), Tengnoupal (1202), Jiribam (1111), Kamjong (1037), and Pherzawl (465).Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,307 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 31,007 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,21,132 tests per million population against the national average of 6,15,860 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent and the recovery rate came down to 98.33 per cent.
The cumulative positivity rate stands 8.50 per cent.
