Speaking on the sidelines, Sanajaoba informed that the inspection was carried out in the interest of inmates of the CCCs set up at Bishupur Municipal Council Office and Mangolnganbi College, Ningthouk-hong.
The sites are satisfactory and the same will be intimated to the authority concerned, CM and local MLA for additional requisite infrastructure.
He also assured that the Loktak Brigade currently stationed at Loukoipat will be relocated based on the law and order situation, while adding that a tourist spot will soon be set up thereafter.
The MP then said that funds for the aforementioned activities would be sought from the Ministry of Tourism, particularly for development of Phouoibi Imagi Khubam on the west of Loukoipat.
He then urged for protection of the forests, adding that not only do many of the forests have sacred sites; they are also home to the wildlife.
As such, he would be bringing up the matter in the parliament as soon as possible.
Drawing the attention of the MP, Covid-19 Relief Committee Bishnupur convenor N Joykumar said that the pending relocation of the army base at Loukoipat even after orders from the DC has frustrated the people.
Presently, the army has forcefully occupied 10 Lou paris instead of 2 lou paris which is unreasonable, the convenor said and further urged for installing a washroom for tourists at Loukoipat tourist complex.
Later, the MP distributed saplings of stink beans for plantation around
Loukoipat Complex.
