ANSAM appeals KCP (MC)

All Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM) through a press note has appealed to all armed groups in Manipur particularly Kangleipak Communist Party, KCP (MC) to let educational institutions be free from any fear, intimidation and threats.
ANSAM said the attacks on educational institutions, schools and its administration have been recurring in different forms in the State and the latest ban on schools Catholic schools in Imphal was "appalling and undignified" .
"We need to collectively push and encourage the younger generation to excel in education that we may overcome the imperialism of our culture and identity if that is what we are protecting," ANSAM note stated.
ANSAM then called on all like-minded individuals and organizations to extend support and solidarity in ending "violence and attacks against education."
ANSAM, KSO seek Govt intervention .
All Naga Students' Association Manipur (ANSAM) and Kuki Students' Organisation (GHQ) said on Saturday that they support the ongoing agitation of the JAC-All Manipur Hill Districts Contract Basis Teachers Association (AMHDCBTA) and 72 hour blockade of the Inter State Transport Service from midnight of April 20 .
In a joint statement issued by ANSAM General Secretary Jonah K Mao and KSO (GHQ) General Secretary Seiboi Haokip also threatened that if the Government fails to redress the matter before April 25 the students body will deal the matter as a State issue.
They appealed to the respective constituent units of both organizations to get prepared for all eventualities.
