Ibobi inaugurates integrated SDO/BDO block

Chief Minister O Ibobi today inau-gurated an integrated infra- structure complex comprising of SDO/BDO office, police outpost and bank at Island subdivisional headquarters under Saikul AC of Senapati district.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended Deputy CM Gaikhangam, IFC Minister Ngamthang Haokip, Parliamentary Secretary Victor Keishing, local MLA Yamthong Haokip and Andro AC MLA Th Shyam-kumar.
Speaking at the function, CM O Ibobi stated that the administrative inconveniences faced by as many as 57 villages of Saikul A/C would now be a thing of the past with the inauguration of the integrated infrastructure complex.
"All the central flagship programmes can now be implemented effectively in the villages through the SDO/BDO office," added Ibobi.
The CM stated that the officers posted there would be accommodated within the complex.

He also appealed to the people residing in the area not to harbour ill-feelings against one another over land disputes.
He added that the complex has been constructed with the objective of providing basic administrative needs of the people and no one should try to take political mileage out of it.
"As part of inclusive infrastructure development project in hill areas, various such complexes have been constructed in every part of hill districts and people must utilize the same to the optimum level," he added.
Deputy CM Gaikhangam stated that the Congress Govt has been working hard to bridge the gap between the hill and valley districts of Manipur which existed a few decades ago.
Under the dynamic leadership of O Ibobi, things have changed and it's not mere words but concrete actions, he added.
Adding that there would be efficiency in administration in the region with the newly inaugurated SDO/BDO office, he said that the Govt acts accordingly as promised to the people.
He said that such integrated office complexes are not built in any of the valley districts of Manipur, and the act speaks about the Govt's care and concern for the hill districts.
Some sections of the society have been wrongly interpreting the efforts of the Govt that the hill areas have been left neglected, he said, such wrong perception should be done away with.
He added that various mini-secretariat offices, mini-stadiums and 100 bedded hospitals are under construction and some of them are almost completed.
He later appealed to all the people of the region to work for inclusive growth of the locality and the State as a whole.
Ngamthang Haokip appreciated the various development works taken up by the Govt in the hill districts of Manipur and said that the inauguration of such integrated infrastructure complex is a great achievement and people should extend support to the endeavour of the Govt.Yamthong Haokip also applauded the works implemented by the Govt for inclusive infrastructure development in hill areas of Manipur.
The inauguration function witnessed cultural dance performances by various dance troupes.
Various memorandums were also submitted to the visiting Chief Minister by various organizations of the area.
